Course Content

Led by our Perfumer, you will be introduced to key aspects of perfume design, and create your own signature perfume.

Your introduction to the ABC’s of Perfumery* system is a fascinating part of the course, where you will use your sense of smell to experience 26 different classes of fragrance components (including essential oils, isolates, concretes, absolutes, extracts, aromachemicals, etc) organised into a system so you can more easily navigate the many hundreds of individual components found in a professional perfumer’s collection.

It also helps you understand how to select, find and apply the 160 components provided in the course for you to create your own first perfumes during the day. Other parts of the course show you how to choose the level of components needed to create a well-balanced perfume.

All this is applied in the last half of the day, when you will be guided to make several classical types of perfume, to understand something of structure. Finally, under the guidance of the Perfumer, you will make your own individual perfume, which you will take away as an eau de parfum, with your own personal label. See below for details about the Course Schedule.

Course Cost

$260 per person, which includes a course booklet, all materials, morning and afternoon teas and an atomiser of your eau de parfum.

*The ABC’s of Perfumery is a system devised by Stephen Douthwaite, Perfumer’s World Ltd.
