Our raw materials
Our products are all vegan-friendly and cruelty-free. We also use glass bottles so they can be recycled to minimise waste.
Fragranzi maintains a library of over 800 individual essential oils, plant extracts, isolates and absolutes and aroma chemicals, from which all of our fine fragrances and make-your-own components are designed by our perfumer. These materials are then carefully blended and subjected to quality control systems to ensure the final perfumes meet exacting standards before they are individually bottled right here in our Christchurch studio.
We source our raw materials from an international supplier based in Thailand, who collects the best essential oils, plant extracts and aromachemicals from around the world, from the highest quality suppliers such as Givaudan, Firmenich, International Flavours and Fragrances (IFF), Symrise, Bedoukian, Kao, Biolandes, Capua, Monique Remy and more. We use only pure grain alcohol from a local distillery but also welcome enquiries from anyone who would like us to prepare a light, sprayable, alcohol-free blend, made from palm-free isopropyl myristate and fractionated coconut oil.
We use no animal or animal-derived products in our fragrances. A range of animalic perfumery components such as castoreum, musks or civet are still harvested from animals in some parts of the world but we do not use them at Fragranzi. Instead, the creation of nature-identical molecules over the past century or more has given us cruelty-free substitutes, while other aroma chemicals have widened the range of fragrances available.
In life, balance is everything. We carefully combine natural, nature-identical and science-designed fragrance components in our products because this gives us the very best of all worlds - longevity, impact, versatility, affordability, and safety.
